Alexandra Court is a residential home for the elderly and officially categorized by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as being able to provide care for elderly people and people with dementia.
Alexandra Court aims to provide a total range of care in collaboration with all appropriate agencies, to meet the overall personal and health care needs of our residents. We have a wonderful relationship with our local Doctor’s surgeries and District Nurse teams who visit Alexandra Court frequently. We also have a visiting Chiropodist, Optician and Dentist.
Each residents care plan provides the basis on which Alexandra Court’s care service is delivered. Care plans include information such as preferred daily routine, likes and dislikes, dietary requirements, medication information, risk management plans, mobility information, speech and hearing information and details of health care needs. Resident’s weights are observed and recorded on a monthly basis.
Being a smaller home enables Marilouise to take personal responsibility for implementing, monitoring and reviewing the care plans for residents. This person centered care enables Marilouise and her team to recognize any changes in our residents, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.
An important part of our approach to care is to obtain the views of residents, relatives, friends and visiting professionals. We do this through quarterly resident meetings which family and friends are welcome to attend, and by requesting residents and their families to complete an annual questionnaire.
